"Playing the Strong Voice of the Times

The Piano Department of Shenyang Conservatory of Music was founded in 1956, with piano and accordion performance and teaching as the objective of talent training. It has three teaching and research sections for main subject, sub subject, and accordion subject. There are 37 teachers in total, including 31 full-time teachers and 6 administrative teachers. There are 7 professors, 15 associate professors and 8 teachers with doctor’s degree. The first department head Chen Ruyi, department secretary Xu Huimin; current department head Li Zhe, department party branch secretary Cheng Xianwei.

In more than 60 years of teaching, the Piano Department has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents, won metals in domestic and international competitions, thus laying the foundation for our department’s first-class education level of education among similar colleges in the country, consolidated profound cultural heritage, accumulated rich experience in running, reserved a strong faculty, created the leading personnel training mode, formed a school scale with both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching levels, established our department teaching, scientific research and practice of the trinity pattern of running a school.

In recent years, the Piano Department has actively carried out various academic exchange activities, party building and league building activities, held hundreds of concerts and dozens of open master classes, significantly increasing its popularity and influence in China. All teachers in the department adhere to the school motto of “Tense, Serious, Diligence, and Modesty,” and strive to devote them to piano and accordion education and teaching, actively promote the spirit of Yan’an Luyi, spread advanced piano and accordion culture, and rely on scientific school-running concepts and rigorous teaching attitudes. The strong teaching ability has cultivated batches of piano and accordion playing and teaching talents for our country.
